Named for the ancient Kāmbhōja (Cambodia) kingdom — one of the rare ragas with a geographic name preserved from early Sangita literature. Hosts utsava-prabandha kritis of Tyāgarāja (Dākṣiṇāmutha, Enthātho) and several Muttiah Bhagavatar compositions. The Hindustani equivalent is Khamaj.
