1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Karunattu (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Karunattu. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.

iPhone purchases are also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

2. Description of Service

Karunattu is a Carnatic music learning and creation app. It provides rāga and tāḷa reference, practice tools with live pitch feedback, a synthesizer engine, composition tools, and optional Plus and Pro features. The iPhone app works without a Karunattu account.

The App is available in three tiers:

• Free (Śiṣya): listening, rāga catalog, tampura, and Compose basics. No purchase required.
• Karunattu Plus (Sādhaka): the full practice suite.
• Karunattu Pro (Kalakar): Studio, Film Compose, and other Pro tools.

3. Accounts and local use

The iPhone app does not require or create a Karunattu account. Practice sessions, preferences, progress, and recordings stay on your device. Apple manages subscription identity and billing through your Apple ID.

4. Subscription Terms (iPhone)

Plus and Pro on iPhone are optional auto-renewable subscriptions sold through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

• Plus Monthly: $4.99 USD per month (or the equivalent shown in your App Store storefront).
• Plus Yearly: $24.99 USD per year (save 58% vs monthly in the US storefront).
• Pro Monthly: $19.99 USD per month (or the equivalent shown in your App Store storefront).
• Pro Yearly: $99.99 USD per year (save 58% vs monthly in the US storefront).
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage / cancel: Open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
• Restore Purchases: Available in the app (paywall, upsell, and Settings → Subscription) and does not require a Karunattu account.
• Refunds: Requested through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Karunattu cannot issue App Store refunds.

The Pro Lifetime $299 product was discontinued on 2026-07-04. It is not offered to new buyers.

Web checkout on karunattu.com is a separate waitlist and is not used to unlock the iPhone app. iPhone paid access comes only from Apple StoreKit.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Circumvent subscription gates or Apple's purchase systems
• Interfere with the App or related services
• Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the App

6. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Jambudweep.tech and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of recordings and compositions you create. Any sharing is initiated by you through iOS.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not guarantee specific learning outcomes. Pitch tools are educational aids, not a substitute for a qualified guru.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KARUNATTU AND JAMBUDWEEP.TECH ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
